John Liberatore was awarded first prize in an international call for scores sponsored by the International Summer Academy of Music (ISAM), based in Noosa, a resort town on Australia's east coast, north of Brisbane, Queensland.  The call for solo piano music solicited 310 entries from composers around the world.  Liberatore garnered first prize for his work Six Line Drawings, a distinction shared with fellow prize-winners Daniel Muñoz-Osorio of Spain and Dina Pruzhansky of Israel.  Pianist Roman Lopatynskyi will perform the work at the closing gala of the summer academy, held on March 9.
